40th Toronto International Film Festival

The 40th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) will take place from 10 to 20 September 2015. A selection of over 400 films from many different parts of the globe will be divided amongst thirteen distinct programmes. The festivities will commence with the screening of Demolition, by Jean-Marc Vallée, cinematography by Yves Bélanger. Amongst the selected films, save omission or oversight, ten feature length films, two episodes of a TV series, and a documentary film, have cinematographers who are AFC members.

For its 40th anniversary, the Toronto Festival will inaugurate a new, judged section this year, entitled “Platform”. It includes twelve films of high artistic value by internationally acclaimed directors that represent their individual vision of film directing. A jury, made up of the directors Jia Zhang-ke, Claire Denis, and Agnieszka Holland, will award the best film in the section with a prize and a $25,000 award.
