This year at Camerimage, CW Sonderoptic will be presenting the newest Leica cine lens products, including their now-delivering Leica Thalia large format lenses and the high-speed and compact Leica M 0.8 lenses.

The Leica Thalia lenses are available in PL mount and will be shown on a RED 8K VistaVision Monstro camera, but are also compatible with ARRI’s Alexa 65 camera. DoP Yves Angelo recently wrapped on the first French production using the lenses on Place Publique, directed by Agnès Jaoui. The Leica M 0.8 lenses will be shown on an Arri Alexa Mini, offering one of the most compact, character-rich camera/lens combinations. CW Sonderoptic will be showing content from both lenses in their booth in the Opera Nova on the first floor.

Additionally, CW Sonderoptic will be hosting a workshop at the MCK Orzel at 18:30 on Monday, November 13, focusing on the new Leica cine lenses in presence of Alexandre Khondji, presenting his art short film
Jardin d’Hiver shot on Alexa 65/Thalia by cinematographer Darius Khondji, AFC, ASC, as well as conversation with DoP Tod Campbell, ASC (Mr. Robot, “Stranger Things”). The workshop will include screenings of content shot on a variety of Leica cine lenses, primarily the Leica Thalia lenses.
