Cinematographer Elin Kirschfink, SBC, recently joined the AFC. Marie Spencer, one of her two AFC sponsors (the other being Caroline Champetier), makes the usual introduction below and welcomes her arrival.

What a joy that Elin is joining the AFC…
We met in 1996 on The Eighth Day, the film by Jaco Van Dormael. Together, we were in a 3rd-year class at the Insas that took place over the four months of shooting.
I was immediately taken by her energy, her liveliness, her precision and her honesty. We could work together very seriously during the day, and then party together at night.
Elin was my second assistant camerawoman on four feature films and many advertisements, as well as on a documentary in Calcutta which is full of memories. We shared unforgettable moments together.

Between 1999 and today, Elin has worked on a dozen feature films, over thirty shorts, which already impresses us and proves to us her love of the cinema and her tenacity. Elin is such a talented, marvelous, moral and joyous person, and she is unrivalled in her generosity.
I can’t urge you enough to see Elsa Diringer’s film Luna and Boris Lojine’s film Camille, which represent just a small portion of her great work as a cinematographer.
A colleague, an accomplice, a confidante, I am delighted that she is joining the AFC so that I will finally be able to meet her over a glass of wine, chat, share, and discuss cinema.
To any director who might read these words : don’t hesitate for a second to choose her as your cinematographer for your next film ; she will delight you !
Welcome, Elin !
