At Camerimage 2019, cinematographers and AFC members Julie Grünebaum, Eric Guichard, and Julien Poupard will give a Master Class, Wednesday November 13 – 11:15-13h:15 – Cinema City, Screening Room n° 6.

Julie Grünebaum will discuss shooting very low-budget films Brother, by Téona Grenade and Thierry Grenade, and Winter Song, by Otar Iosseliani, contrasting her approaches with a first-time director versus a veteran filmmaker.

Éric Guichard will discuss shooting animals in the forest and birds in the air in Seasons, by Jacques Perrin et Jacques Cluzaud, and Give Me Wings, by Nicolas Vanier, showing us how to make cameras fly with Microlights, drones and a helicopter.

Julien Poupard will show excerpts of two powerful films shot in French ghettos by first-time directors: Divines, by Houda Benyamina (Camera d’or prize at Cannes 2018) and the upcoming Les Misérables, by Ladj Ly (Jury prize at Cannes this year).
