"Bienvenue" to LCA!
By Richard Andry, AFC, and Eric Guichard, AFC

Welcome to LCA (Lights Camera Action), our new associated member, and to its "boss" Nick Shapley. Although their operational base is in London, we have run into each other, over the years, in multiple places in the World where Nick and his team have shown their innovative "lighting solutions", supplying a wide range of film and TV equipment including LED and traditional lighting, grip equipment, power supplies, consumables and more. Last week end, they were running a booth at the 5th Oslo Digital Cinema Conference, where the attendees were invited to test different equipment.

Sébastien Buchmann, a fellow traveller, an accomplice
By Céline Bozon, AFC

Sébastien and I have repeatedly crossed paths over the last dozen or so years. We both relayed working on movies by young directors like Jean-Charles Fitoussi, Antoine Fumat, Sandrine Rinaldi, and Claire Doyon. Then finally we even shared work a few films where shooting was spread out over a couple of seasons, such as Horezon, by Pascal Bodet, or The Queen of Hearts, by Valérie Donzelli.

Welcome to Angénieux
by Remy Chevrin

It is with great pleasure that the AFC welcomes Angénieux as a new associate member. With a strong tradition that cinematographers have long valued, this French company, owned in recent years by the Thales group, has developed products that have been respected by directors of the photography for more than a century of cinema.

Thales Angénieux
by Philippe Parrain, CEO of Thales Angénieux

I am pleased to have presided over the destiny of Thales Angénieux for the past two and a half years. Although Angénieux is an internationally recognized brand in the world of cinema through our famous line of Optimo zooms, our company had not previously established any formal link with the AFC.
Yet it is to the AFC and its members, directors of photography, the early users of our products, that we must turn to propose lenses that continue to perfectly meet the technical and artistic requirements of this métier.
