Visit to ABC Week, 15th edition
by Eric Guichard, AFCABC Week takes place in the São Paulo’ Cinémathèque, a beautifully restored former slaughterhouse. The space is welcoming, with a cafeteria, large covered areas and two screening rooms (80 and 200 seats). An outdoor screen also allows for open-air screenings.

All of the technical industries associated with the ABC are present and each has its own stand.
The outdoor space is also occupied, under giant tent structures built for the occasion.
The atmosphere is warm and friendly, reminiscent of our own Micro Salon.
Outside, in a magnificent garden, refreshment stands add to the charm of the event.
The two screening rooms host film and documentary screenings, conferences and presentations of equipment from ABC partners.
There were many visitors and, as in Paris, many students were in attendance.
I was able to see the remarkable documentary About a Hero, directed by Piotr Winiewicz and photographed by Emil Aagaard, as well as a passionate conference on the language of framing (‘Camera framing and operation ; a language in constant transformation’), led by Fernanda Tanaka, ABC, Cesar Charlone, ABC, and Walter Carvalho, ABC.

The third day is reserved for the ABC Awards ceremony, which also includes categories other than photography, as the ABC society also includes other professions (ABC members).
