We had a lot of projects in early 2016 and our Open Day is rapidly approaching, along with the spring (save the date, 22d of March 2016 !).

Some of our latest shoots :
We ended up the shoot of HhhH (yes, that really was the working title) (Dir : Cedric Jimenez) with helicopter aerials in the French Alps. After a First Unit job last November with the Russian Arm in Budapest, we rejoined the production in Grand-Bornand for an aerial sequence, shot on 35mm. We shot with our gyro-head Super-G and an Arriflex 435 fitted with the Angénieux 24-290mm lens. 90 minutes flying time in harsh weather condition (-20° during the set-up) but without any consequences on the quality of the images.

Another job in the Alps with Pascal Bourdiaux crew for his new feature film Mes trésors, featuring Jean Reno :
“Carole, introvert, and Caroline a rebellious pickpocket, don’t know each other. They share the same father - Patrick, who disappeared before their birth. When Patrick reappears after a narrow escape from death, he wants to get back the time they have lost and reunite his two daughters – but with a goal in mind – the theft of a Stradivarius, worth 15 million Euros”.
For this shoot we used the Shotover K1 with an Alexa XT and Angénieux 25-250, with an anamorphic adaptor. Our Aerial DoP Jim Swanson was on command of the Shotover for air to air images with another helicopter.

Some other performances lately, in particular a commercial shoot with our 2D Cablecam® with the Shotover F1 for Hermes. We worked in a horse school filming an international horsewoman show jumping. We have lately been involved in several jobs with horses and they always reacted well regarding our equipment ! Our system brought entire satisfaction to the production team on this challenging site. Our Cablecam can perform fast and repetitive movements in the horizontal/vertical axes, remaining totally silent and discreet. Fitted with our Shotover F1, the Cablecam and our team properly mixed up in the scenery so as to best film the horsewoman and her mount.
Unshakable stability, precision, and perfect control in the movement wished by the production. The Shotover F1 was equipped with a Red Weapon and Angénieux 19.5-94mm lens.

Our next release :
Zoolander 2, directed by Ben Stiller, shot by par Daniel Mindel, released on the 2d of March. ACS France coordinated the aerial shot with the Italian team and the exploitation of a helicopter on ground and air. Luc Poullain was on location overseeing these aerial sequences.

13 Hours : The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, directed by Michael Bay, shot by Dion Beebe, released the 30th of March. Two shoot location for this job, Malta and Morocco, and two crews from ACS France with the Shotover K1. A precise aerial coordination for the project under the watchful eyes of a demanding director ; a busy workload as coordinating the sequences with three teams/five situations, explosions, military convoys, on ground fights, all that with unsettled weather. Fred North as pilot, Steve Desbrow operating the K1 and Luc Poullain on the ground.
The operation ended up in Morocco with a helicopter from the Moroccan government ; First Unit and Splinter Unit sequences offering an unusual show to the Rabat inhabitants. The Shotover K1 was equipped with the Red Dragon in 6K and an Angénieux 28-340 lens. Other action sequences were shot by our drone unit with a Red Epic and 24mm – day & night shot with explosions, still under the attentive eyes of M. Bay, we had no margin for error.
Steve Desbrow – aerial DoP : “ACS France difference in that they provide the equipment, organise the permissions and actually shoot the shoot - worldwide !”.
