Announcement of the selections for the Cannes 2019 Parallel Sections

After the announcement by the Cannes Film Festival of its official selection for 2019 comes the turn of the parallel sections – Critics’ Week, Directors’ Fortnight, and ACID – to unveil the list of films that they will screen. Four of them were shot by members of the AFC.

58e Semaine de la Critique


The 58th Annual Critics’ Week will be held from 9-17 May 2019. The jury will be presided by the Colombian director Ciro Guerra and eleven premiers and second feature-length films and thirteen shorts will be screened.
The opening film will be Litigante, by Franco Lolli, cinematography by Luis Armando Arteaga.

51st Annual Directors’ Fortnight


The 51st Annual Directors’ fortnight will take place from 15-25 May 2019.
Paolo Moretti is the new general delegate of this parallel section, which will open on 15 May with Le Daim, by Quentin Dupieux, director, cinematographer and editor.

The Associaion du cinema indépendant pour sa diffusion (ACID) will hold the 27th Annual ACID Cannes from Wednesday 15 October to Friday 24 May 2019 and will screen nine films.
