The AFC at the 71st Festival de Cannes

[ English ] [ français ]

With seventeen films filmed by its members and screened on the Croisette (all sections), the AFC will once again be well-represented at the Cannes Film Festival this year. It will also be present in the jury of the Caméra d’Or award and by its daily newsletter. Over a dozen AFC cinematographers have already indicated that they will attend the Festival.

The AFC’s Associate Members will also be present, as they are also part of the celebration via the many films they participated in creating via their individual fields. Once again this year, the CST will play host to the AFC for the duration of the festival in Pavilion 223 in the Pantiero International Village for friendly discussions and the daily creation of its newsletter.

Another highlight is that the Festival usually asks an AFC cinematographer to be a member of the Caméra d’Or jury. This year, Jeanne Lapoirie will be a part of the jury that will award a first film from the Official Selection in either the Competition or the “Un certain regard” sections.

Internet users who have subscribed to our Newsletter will receive links to articles published on our website, which offer an agenda that is updated every day, portfolios of images, articles, interviews (written or filmed), and other images related to the films in the selection that were filmed by both AFC members and non-members, French and foreign alike. Simultaneously, our Associate Members’ news from Cannes will be shared every day, as well.

The AFC’s unique presence at Cannes, via its daily newsletter and its special interviews performed for the occasion, receives support from the CNC and over fifteen of the AFC’s Associate Members.
