To close the 2^d AFC Postproduction Days, on January 22, 2020, the directors of photography Éric Gautier, AFC, and Fabian Wagner led a Master Class, moderated by N.T. Binh. During this meeting, they spoke of their common passion for the image.

When Andréa Bescond and Eric Métayer were awarded the Molière Award for Best Solo Performance in 2016 for Les Chatouilles, a play about sexual abuse of children, they didn’t know they’d be back at Cannes two years later with the eponymous film they co-directed. Surrounding themselves with a shock team for their first movie, they called on cinematographer Pierre Aïm, AFC, who had shot Maïwen’s Polisse, a film that strangely resonates with Little Tickles… The film is being presented in the Un Certain Regard section (BB)

C’est pour une seconde collaboration qu’Eric Gautier retrouve Walter Salles sur les routes Nord américaines. Carnets de voyage était aussi en sélection officielle à Cannes en 2004 où Eric avait été récompensé pour son travail par le prix Vulcain de l’artiste technicien. L’adaptation filmée du roman culte de Jack Kerouac On the Road, en sélection officielle de ce 65^e rendez-vous cannois, a inspiré à Eric une image sans cesse réinventée.
