L’ASC a enfin pu à nouveau tenir au mois de juin 2022 une nouvelle session de son ICS (International Cinematography Summit). Cette manifestation a été créée en 2011 à l’initiative du président d’alors, Michael Goi.

Luca Bigazzi et Paolo Sorrentino forment l’un des tandems les plus brillants dans la cinématographie italienne actuelle. Vainqueurs de plus de soixante récompenses dont l’Oscar du meilleur film étranger avec La grande belezza, en 2014 – présent au Festival de Cannes 2013, mais ignoré par le jury –, les deux hommes se retrouvent cette année sur la Croisette avec La giovinezza (Youth). Un film mettant en scène un duo d’octogénaires interprétés par Michael Caine et Harvey Keitel, tourné entre la Suisse et l’Italie. (FR)

Cinematographer Luca Bigazzi and Paolo Sorrentino together form one of the most successful tandems in Italian cinema today. Winners of over sixty awards, including the Oscar for Best Foreign Film with The Great Beauty in 2014 – which, although it was screened at Cannes in 2013, was ignored by the jury – the two men meet again this year at Cannes with their movie La giovinezza (Youth). This film portrays two octogenarians played by Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel and was shot between Switzerland and Italy. (FR)

Le lundi 7 octobre 2022, l’AFC, accompagnée de Netflix, Arri et de Dolby Vision, organisait une rencontre autour de la fabrication du film Athéna, création originale Netflix, réalisée par Romain Gavras et photographiée par Matias Boucard, AFC. Autour de cette table ronde, on retrouve le chef opérateur, accompagné de son étalonneur, Mathieu Caplane, de Jérôme Brechet, Color Scientist chez Color, et de Karine Feuillard, Consultante en workflows pour Netflix. L’occasion de passer au crible les problématiques et singularités du workflow du film (ACES, HDR, 4K, Dolby Vision).

L’automne dernier, Netflix a invité des journalistes spécialisés en technologie à New York pour leur parler de High Dynamic Range (HDR), en utilisant comme référence les images de la série "Daredevil", le super héro de Marvel, qu’il diffuse.

Lors de la première partie du Colloque HDR, organisé jeudi 15 février 2018 au Cercle Rouge de TSF par l’AFC, Fabien Pisano, pour Sony France, et Matthieu Leclercq, pour Mikros image, ont introduit la journée en revenant sur les concepts fondamentaux de cette technologie.
