Second annual “Festival Chefs Op’ en lumière” at Chalon-sur-Saône

The second annual “Festival Chefs Op’ en lumière” organized by La Bobine, took place at Chalon-sur-Saône, from 11 to 15 March 2020. The spotlight was shone on Jonathan Ricquebourg, AFC, and Elin Kirschfink, AFC, SBC, joined by Manu Dacosse, SBC, Sébastien Goepfert, Antoine Héberlé, AFC, Gilles Porte, AFC, Marie Spencer, AFC, SBC, and Virginie Surdej, SBC. Pierre Lhomme, AFC, has been honored at this event, and a photographic exposition dedicated to Roger Corbeau was also featured.

This year, the organizers chose “to turn towards young cinematographers, the rising stars of the profession…” Screenings, meetings, tribute, Cine-Concert, photo exposition… all featured at this second annual festival.

  • Carte Blanche to … Jonathan Ricquebourg, AFC
    With the screening of four of his films as DoP :
    - L’Angle mort, by Patrick Mario Bernard and Pierre Trividic (2019)
    - Shéhérazade, by Jean-Bernard Marlin (2018)
    - Mange tes morts – Tu ne diras point, by Jean-Charles Hue (2014)
    - Degas et moi, by Arnaud des Palières (2019)
    And Jonathan Ricquebourg’s choice of a film that is particularly meaningful to him :
    - L’Esprit de la ruche, by Victor Erice (1973), cinematography by Luis Cuadrado.
  • Focus on … Elin Kirschfink, AFC, SBC
    With the screening of three of her films as DoP :
    - Camille, by Boris Lojkine (2019)
    - Luna, by Elsa Diringer (2018)
    - Sans frapper, by Alexe Poukine (2019).
  • Master Class :
    A lesson in cinema by Jonathan Ricquebourg and Elin Kirschfink, moderated by Yonca Talu.
  • Round Table :
    With Jonathan Ricquebourg, Elin Kirschfink, Antoine Héberlé, Sébastien Goepfert, Manu Dacosse and Rémi Jennequin, moderated by N.T. Binh.
  • Tribute to Pierre Lhomme :
    With the screening of :
    - Cyrano de Bergerac, by Jean-Paul Rappeneau (1990).
