The AFC at the 70th Cannes Film Festival

La Lettre AFC n°276

[ English ] [ français ]

Once again this year, the films screened at the Cannes Film Festival made by our member cinematographers will be the sign of our association’s presence at this great festival of cinema. This year is the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival, and fourteen “AFC” films will be screened (barring an error or oversight on our behalf) in the various sections and in either of the Croisette’s theatres.

Our associate members will be in attendance as well, as each of them have participated in their own way and in their professions in each of these films and in many others. In the following pages, you will be able to read the information we’ve received from them on this topic. Again, this year, the CST will kindly welcome us in its pavilion for the duration of the festival – Pavillon 208, Village International Pantiero – for friendly conversation and the implementation of our Daily Newsletter.
Another highlight, according to those who have experienced it in the past, will be the possibility that the Festival provides to an AFC cinematographer to be a member of the Caméra d’Or jury. The organizers chose Patrick Blossier this year, who will be one of the jurors that decides to award a prize to a first film.

Subscribers to our Newsletter will receive links to read articles published on our website, an agenda updated every day, portfolios, articles, interviews, and images on films in the selection that were filmed by AFC members (or others), in France and abroad. Meanwhile, our associate members’ news from Cannes won’t be overlooked as we will be publishing this every day, too.
The AFC’s presence at the festival, its daily newsletter, and the interviews it will be conducting for the occasion, will benefit from the support of the CNC and about fifteen of our associate members.
