Suite à une récente réunion du CA de l’AFC, décision a été prise d’admettre en tant que membre actif le directeur de la photographie Lionel Jan Kerguistel. Ses deux parrains AFC, Jean-Marie Dreujou et Manuel Teran, présentent ici ce nouveau venu tel qu’ils l’ont fait au moment de proposer sa candidature à leurs pairs. Qu’il soit dès à présent le bienvenu au sein de l’AFC !

Le Zeiss Planar 50 mm F0,7 a été rendu célèbre par Stanley Kubrick qui l’utilisa pour Barry Lyndon. Son producteur exécutif, Jan Harlan, l’a prêté au Musée de l’Optique de Zeiss.

Césarisé pour l’image de The Artist, Guillaume Schiffman, AFC, a adopté la nouvelle caméra grand format Arri Alexa LF et les optiques Arri Signature Primes sur ses trois derniers films : Mon cousin, de Jan Kounen, La Bonne épouse, de Martin Provost, et En attendant Bojangles, de Régis Roinsard. I was a member of the jury for the Directors’ Debuts Competition, which features first and second films, at Camerimage this year, alongside Rob Epstein (Jury President), director, screenwriter, and producer, and Jan Roelfs, production designer, who received the Camerimage Award for Production Designer With Unique Visual Sensitivity this year.

J’étais membre du jury "Director’s Debut", la sélection des premiers et deuxièmes films, au festival Camerimage, avec Rob Epstein (président), réalisateur, scénariste et producteur, et Jan Roelfs, "production designer", qui cette année recevait le "Camerimage Award to Production Designer with Unique Visual Sensitivity".

"Inspiration !", the seminar organized by Imago, the European Federation of directors of photography, was held in Copenhagen (Denmark) from October 31 to November 2, 2008.
First, let me express my warmest thanks to the Imago team, its chairman Nigel Walters, BSC, Jan Weincke, president of the DDF, Andreas Fischer-Hansen, DDF, Paul Rene Roestad, FNF and Tina Sorensen, head to the National Film School of Denmark, who welcomed all the participants. The team organized this seminar in a seamless and, above all, friendly fashion, with a theme, entitled "Inspiration", which was far from easy to develop.
