From Wednesday May 14th to Saturday May 24th, the new Image Pavilion marked the AFC’s presence at the 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The Image Pavilion was made possible by the financial support of some of our associate members : Agfa, Cininter, Fujifilm, K5600, Kodak, Mikros Image, Panavision, Quinta and TSF. We would like to express our hearty thanks, with a special mention of our three "film stock fairy godmothers" who facilitated the lodging of AFC DPs. The Image Pavilion was also made possible by the generosity and dedication of AFC members.

Second à exploiter le nouvel espace Workshop inauguré cette année à Camerimage, le constructeur français Angénieux profite de ces quatre heures de rencontre pour présenter au public leurs tout nouveaux zooms Optimo Ultra Compact, venant compléter la gamme, déjà pourvue du zoom Optimo Ultra 12x et des douze focales fixes Optimo Prime. Avant de laisser le public découvrir par lui-même les objectifs, poser ses questions au constructeur où encore assister au démontage des Prime pour y modifier la lentille IOP, Angénieux a introduit l’atelier par une master class. Pour ouvrir celle-ci, le constructeur est revenu en détail sur le dispositif IOP et a proposé des essais comparatifs pour présenter les nouvelles lentilles disponibles de cette gamme. L’opérateur Steadicam Chris Fawcett, ASO, a également profité de cette première partie pour montrer en direct des images tournées avec les nouveaux zooms Optimo Ultra Compact, afin de démontrer, entre autres, leur légèreté et leur maniabilité. La master class a également été ponctuée d’interventions de nombreux chefs opérateurs évoquant leurs récents tournages en Optimo, dont Steeven Petitteville, AFC, qui a partagé son expérience de tournage publicitaire en Optimo Prime et intégration IOP.
