Lors de la cérémonie du clôture du 71^e Festival de Cannes, samedi 19 mai, le jury, présidé par l’actrice Cate Blanchett, a annoncé le palmarès de l’édition 2018. La Palme d’or a été décernée à Manbiki Kazoku, de Hirokazu Kore-Eda, photographié par Ryuto Kondo, la Caméra d’or, à Girl, de Lukas Dhont, photographié par Frank van den Eeden, et le Prix Vulcain, à Shin Joom-Hee, directrice artistique de Burning, de Lee Chang-dong, photographié par Hong Kyung-pyo.

Dans son édition du samedi 22 février 2020, le quotidien Le Parisien a publié un article dans lequel Renaud Baronian revient sur l’Oscar des Effets visuels obtenu par Guillaume Rocheron (partagé avec Greg Butler et Dominic Tuohy) pour le travail effectué sur 1917, de Sam Mendes, « le seul Français récompensé le 9 février, après avoir déjà remporté une statuette en 2013 pour L’Odyssée de Pi, d’Ang Lee ».

During the closing ceremony of the 71th Cannes Film Festival on Saturday, 19 May, the jury, presided by Cate Blanchett, announced the winners of the 2018 Festival. The Golden Palm was awarded to Manbiki Kazoku, by Hirokazu Kore-Eda, cinematography by Ryuto Kondo, the Golden Camera to Girl, by Lukas Dhont, cinematography by Frank van den Eeden, and the CST’s Vulcain Award to Shin Joom-Hee, Art Director of Burning, by Lee Chang-dong, cinematography by Hong Kyung-Pyo.

Lors de 85^e cérémonie des Oscars, qui s’est tenue au Dolby Theater de Los Angeles le 24 février 2013, l’Oscar de la cinématographie a été attribué au film Life of Pi de Ang Lee, photographié par Claudio Miranda. L’Oscar du film en langue étrangère a été décerné à Amour, de Michael Haneke, photographié par Darius Khondji, AFC, ASC.

Nous publions, avec ce nouveau portfolio, la suite du reportage photographique effectué par Pauline Maillet lors de la 13^e édition de Micro Salon qui s’est tenu à La fémis les 22 et 23 février 2013, donnant un aperçu des divers espaces situés au sous-sol de La fémis, du plateau 1 au plateau 2, là où l’AFSI animait l’Espace son.

Le 39^e ICFF "Manaki Brothers", qui projetait quelques 95 films répartis dans 14 programmes, a pris fin, samedi 29 septembre 2018, avec la soirée de clôture dans la Grande salle du Palais de la culture de Bitola (République de Macédoine). Le jury, présidé par Olympia Mytilinaiou, a décerné la Caméra 300 d’or au directeur de la photographie sud-coréen Hong Kyeong-pyo pour Burning, de Lee Chang-dong, et la Caméra 300 d’argent, à Eric Gautier, AFC, pour Ash is Purest White, de Jia Zhang-ke.

Présidé par le directeur de la photographie autrichien Christian Berger, AAC, le jury de la 29^e édition de l’ICFF " Manaki Brothers ", festival international dédié à l’image de film qui s’est tenu à Bitola et Skopje (République de Macédoine) du 27 septembre au 4 octobre 2008, a décerné ses prix.
La Caméra 300 d’or a été remise au directeur de la photo mexicain Rodrigo Prieto, AMC, pour ses images du film Lust, Caution (Se, jie) de Ang Lee.

Director Jia Zhangke is one of the most critically acclaimed Chinese director and the one best-loved by international audiences. He has already presented a number of films at Cannes (I Wish I Knew, A Touch of Sin, Mountains May Depart). He entrusted Eric Gautier, AFC, with the cinematography of his last feature-length film. Eric Gautier is the cinematographer of France’s greatest directors (Arnaud Desplechin, Olivier Assayas, Alain Resnais, Patrice Chéreau) and also shot Into the Wild, On the Road, and Hotel Woodstock for Ang Lee. He is accompanying Jia Zhang-ke on his walk up the red carpet at Cannes this year, where the film Ash Is Purest White is in official competition. (BB)
