Directed by Kasia Adamik and Olga Chajdas, the series "Kabul" is a European co-production between France, Belgium, Greece, Germany, and Italy. This ambitious project portrays the evacuation of the Afghan capital during the American withdrawal in 2021. In the great Anglo-Saxon tradition of films recreating major historical events, the series offers a detailed reconstruction of the fall of Kabul. The Polish cinematographer Matteusz Wichlacz, PSC, a long-time collaborator of the two directors, was in charge of filming the entire series. We spoke with him about this spectacular reconstruction of Afghanistan—shot entirely in the suburbs of Athens—and "Kabul"’s participation in the official international competition at Séries Mania. Réalisée par Kasia Adamik et Olga Chajdas, la série "Kaboul" est une coproduction européenne entre la France, la Belgique, la Grèce, l’Allemagne et l’Italie. Ce projet très ambitieux traite de l’évacuation de la capitale de l’Afghanistan, à l’heure de la retraite américaine en 2021. Dans la grande tradition anglo-saxonne des films recréant l’actualité ou des événements majeurs de l’histoire récente, cette série offre une reconstitution de la chute de Kaboul. C’est le directeur de la photographie polonais Mateusz Wichłacz, PSC, compatriote ayant déjà travaillé avec les deux réalisatrices qui a été en charge de filmer l’intégralité de la série. On revient avec lui sur cette reconstitution spectaculaire de l’Afghanistan dans la banlieue d’Athènes, en compétition officielle internationale à Séries Mania. (FR)

January 31 was the fateful date of Brexit and it fell smack in the middle of the BSC Expo 2020. Thankfully, our British friends had gratified us with a “preview” opening on Thursday the 30th from 16:00 to 19:00. Three “fluid” hours reserved for BSC members and VIPs to be able to walk around the expo, discuss with the exhibitors, and meet a few colleagues.

La date fatale du Brexit tombait le 31 janvier en plein milieu du BSC Expo 2020. Heureusement, nos amis britanniques nous avaient gratifiés d’une ouverture en "preview", le jeudi 30 de 16h à 19h. Trois heures "fluides" réservées aux membres de la BSC et aux VIPs pour pouvoir déambuler dans le salon, discuter avec les exposants, retrouver quelques confrères.
