At IBC this year, Angenieux had shown the New Optimo Ultra 12x Multi Format lens and the already popular Type EZ series, both for S35 & Full Frame cameras. After the success of the Optimo 44-440 A2S lens, Angénieux had also presented, for the first time in Europe, the Optimo 42-420 A2S Long Range Anamorphic lens for the High End Production market.

Technique

The new Optica Magnus full format viewfinder is an ergonomically designed optical viewfinder system that offers Spherical and Anamorphic capabilities. Currently squeeze factors are 1.5X and 1.9X (1.9X covers 1.8X and 2.0X squeeze factors). The viewfinder is compatible for all sensor formats up to RED Monstro 8K (image diameter 46,31mm), offers interchangeable lens mounts and more.

Camerimage 2021

In 2019, the AFC hosted several screenings of a comparative test of lenses designed for standard 18 × 24 format. Presented in Paris at the Cercle Rouge and the Louis-Lumière school, in Poland at the Camerimage Festival and in Los Angeles at the E-Film laboratory, the test examined lenses currently available on the market for sale or rental and was, of course, presented without bias or preference of any kind, regardless of the manufacturers or partners participating in the project.
